Herbst Appliance

A Herbst appliance is a fixed functional appliance. This means that it cannot be removed. A herbst appliance can be used in combination with a fixed labial appliance but at the Harley Street Orthodontic Clinic a Herbst appliance is only used in combination with Incognito as this provides outstanding results in correcting the jaw relationship and controlling the lower incisor position. It looks a bit scary but it works wonderfully being very predicable and reliable. It is excellent for those patients who are not compliant at wearing a removable appliance or elastics.
